Name: The name of the room is born out of (and try to follow this): ‘Lead Station’ – former police station – Lead – (a metal) therefore ‘copper’ – (another metal) – former police station – ‘Copper’/ ‘Coppers’; and finally and most pertinently, the colours that have been used – NB the copper bar top.
Artwork: The main photograph is by a photographer named Melissa Moore and from series named ‘Know the edge’, the entirety of which was recently sold to the gallery exhibiting her work in Milan. Our print is one of five from the edition and one of ten in the series.In relation to music, guests may play whatever they wish to bring for the event or plug in an i-pod subject to having the necessary adaptors and leads. We also have Technics turntables should you want a DJ to entertain you.
.... about using the room...
Deposit: Whilst we do not charge for hire of the copper room, we do require a deposit of £100 to secure your booking. The deposit will be returned after the even, once the room has been checked.
Capacity: The room holds up to 50 people comfortably. However, depending on the nature of your event and whether you are eating we recommend a smaller number may be a more suitable maximum.
Bar: The bar is fully stocked with the exception of draught beer which can be purchased from downstairs. We are licensed until midnight - last orders will be called at 11:45pm.
Please note: The bar is cash only. The event organiser can run a tab but other guests should come prepared to pay as they go.
Catering: There are two options for catering. We have canapés at £5.50 per person, or a ‘filling' option - which is a buffet of hot food, at £12 per person. We are quite fl exible with both menus so if you have any special requirements please ask.
Bespoke menus can also be arranged.
The minimum number for catering is 20.
Media: The TV in the room can be used during any private party. There is also digital input for a laptop, and a DVD player.
Music: The room has its own set of decks. Use of these is subject to payment of an additional £200 deposit which will be paid on the night and refunded following inspection of the system. Alternatively you can supply your own CDs or iPod to be played through the speakers in the room.
Decoration: Any decoration must be free standing and removable. Pins or adhesives of any kind are not permitted.
Terms and Condiitons
Damage: Damage of any kind sustained to fixtures, fitting or the room itself will be charged to the event organiser.
